Steve Heimoff of Wine Enthusiast Magazine Reports that F. Korbel & Bros., the largest producer of sparkling wines in the United States has sold Kenwood Vineyards to the New York-based Banfi Vintners
F. Korbel & Bros. announced the sale at the end of last month but the deal isn’t expected to fully close until June, according to Steve Heimoff of Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Gary Heck, owner of F. Korbel & Bros., made the decision to sell the vineyard and invest more time into the Korbel brand. Heck stated that, “Kenwood produces more than 550,000 cases of wine a year. It takes a lot of work and effort. It’s very profitable, but sparkling wine [consumption] is now at an all-time high [in America], so we want to put all our executive effort and focus on it, and brandy. It deserves all my time.”
At Hearthstone Vineyard and Tasting Room, we devote our time to our select array of quality wines grown right here in Paso Robles.
Stop on by and try our 2008 Syrah Reserve
Hearthstone Vineyard allows our Syrah the required heat to fully ripen and produce thick-skinned, dark berries. During post-harvest sorting of the grape clusters, we pulled a small lot of extremely high quality clusters to produce this intense, deep violet colored, rich wine. Enjoy this limited, single barrel wine with your favorite winter meals.
