Valentines Weekend Tasting

2008 Grenache is to be paired with goat cheese and dates

A wine club favorite, this wine won’t last long! This lighter style wine has overwhelming sweet cherry, yet hints of French oak, boysenberry, coffee and coca lead to a lingering and soft finish.  This wine pairs well with a variety of foods, but my favorite is lobster tail on the BBQ!

2008 Pinot Noir will be coupled with some almonds covered in dark chocolate

This vintage is darker in color and expresses deeper and bolder wine characteristics. An earthy nose with hints of boysenberry, dried cherry and current lead to a full bodied, well balanced wine. This vintage will pair with earth-flavored foods and dishes, and will age for 7 to 10 years.

2008 Syrah Reserve and chocolate cover espresso beans will make a great duo

Hearthstone’s first Reserve Syrah, shown powerful notes of black cherry, espresso, and cigar box in the scent. The mouth follows with dark chocolate, and a savory-earthy touch of tobacco, and a toasted oak leads to a lingering dry finish.

2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and a dark chocolate truffle are always an awesome twosome

Layers of caramel, vanilla, and eucalyptus in the nose and has a full bodied jaminess, which hint toward black cherries and blackberries fruit which are complex and elegant. Creamy laced oak, black currant and anise lead into a finish of firm tannins.

Please be sure to ask us about our dessert wine.
